  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WALL MURAL AND A WALLPAPER ?

A wall mural is a made-to-measure large-scale design or photo wallpaper. A wallpaper roll is a 63 cm width roll with an identical pattern that does repeat on each roll. All our wall murals are made according to your exact measurements, with your chosen design and material. All our wallpaper rolls are available in many lengths, with your chosen design and material.

  • CAN I CUSTOMISE MY WALLPAPER?

Yes, You can completely customise your wall mural. Once you have chosen your design or uploaded your own, simply add the desired dimensions and the image will be ‘cropped’ to show you which area of the image will correspond to your proportions. Once the crop marks (the blue lines on the image) appear on the image, you can move them around the image to frame and indicate the exact area you would like to be printed as your wall mural. Then, choose a material from our large range of available materials, and your mural will be shipped within 3 to 5 working days in a highly resistant box.

  • HOW LONG WILL MY WALLPAPER MURAL STAY UP?

Well, it all depends on the surface you plan to apply it to. A good wall preparation is key! On a flat, smooth and CLEAN indoor wall, our wall murals will last for years. We do not recommend installing our wall murals on textured walls, on vinyl based walls or on eggshell painted/ textured walls, even if we have thick materials which can be used effectively on rough surfaces. If you wall is quite damaged, you can install our exclusive fabric canvas wall with frames, which is a great and beautiful way to make your wallz talk even if they are not in great shape. It is important to install your product within 2-4 weeks of delivery.

  • WHAT TYPE OF SURFACE CAN I INSTALL MY WALLPAPER MURAL ON?

Flat and smooth surfaces are best. For more rough surfaces, even if a preparation is always better to have a great finish, some materials thicker could be used to cover small irregularities, even if the final result won’t be as perfect as on a very smooth surface. We do not recommend installing on any type of textured wall even if we have thicker materials for rough surfaces. We recommend our exclusive Fabric Canvas Material for very damaged walls.

  • CAN I PUT MY WALLPAPER MURAL ON A SURFACE OTHER THAN A WALL?

Absolutely! By using our exclusive removable Phototex or laminated vinyl materials, you can apply your chosen design on all types of doors, furnitures, glass, ceilings, poles, windows, home appliances, tiles, mirrors, etc. It can easily be placed on almost any flat surface, given that is is smooth, clean and dry. If you use our removable Phototex, you will be able to remove it without causing any damage or leaving any trace to the wall.. It can be reused and repurposed dozens of times, so you can change its position and placement as many times as you wish!

  • CAN I USE WALLPAPER MURALS TO DECORATE MY BATHROOM OR ANOTHER HIGH MOISTURE AREA?

Absolutely! Some of our materials are humidity-proof but the walls need to be completely dry before applying. In this case, lamination is necessary for installation in a bathroom or moist area. Lamination entails a highly resistant skin applied over the surface of the material, which will protect the mural against moisture/humidity, scratches, UV damage and everyday wear and tear. Moreover, it can be cleaned with a damp cloth! Lamination finish is Matte. Avoid to install your mural directly in the shower: direct water flow could cause your mural to peel off.

  • CAN I CLEAN MY WALLPAPER MURAL?

Yes, you can wipe clean your wall mural with care as the inks we are using are very resistant. Simply take a clean, damp sponge a wipe gently using warm water. Do not use chemical detergents on your wall mural.

Our laminated products are much more resistant and can be cleaned without risk of damages. We propose as well some specific washable products with a special coating.

  • CAN I WALLPAPER MY CEILING?

All our murals will fit perfectly on both walls and ceilings — they even fit on doors! Please note that a surface must be smooth, clean, dry and sound for wallpapering to work effectively. 

  • What is Univerwall Material?

Our self adhesive material is a woven fabric that has the look and feel of a very thin canvas. It does NOT contain any vinyl and does NOT require any additional adhesive such as glue or paste. The backing is made of a low-tack adhesive that allows you to remove it and re-use it multiple times. It has a natural matte finish.   • How long will my wall mural stay up?

Well, it all depends on the surface you plan to apply it to. A good wall preparation is key! On a flat, smooth and CLEAN indoor wall, our wall murals will certainly last for years. We do not recommend installing on textured walls, vinyl based walls or eggshell painted textured walls. It is important to Install within 2-4 weeks of delivery. Warranty is void after 4 weeks of receipt.

  • What wall surface should my mural be installed on?

Outside of plain brick, the only surface that we have seen work against the adhesive is the combination of eggshell paint on a textured surface. Eggshell paint is mainly used in the kitchen and has intentional additives that allow it to be cleaned with detergents like 409, Fantastic, Soft Scrub, making it hard to adhere too. The material does has the ability to stick to this paint, however, when the paint has been applied to a textured surface, then basically only half the adhesive is touching the actual surface. In some cases, this type of surface combined with eggshell paint can make it touchy for the material to work. Our recommendation is to NOT INSTALL ON TEXTURED WALLS.

We now offer a product to handle rougher surfaces which is a High Tack 50% Stronger adhesive (still removable) and also great for more permanent installs. The Opaque material allows for a 100% block out, great to cover colored painted walls.

Our wall murals stick to low and no VOC paints!

It is very important that you allow at least 30 days concerning a newly paint surface to dry. Bubbles can occur if the paint is still outgassing/flashing off. Also make sure all drywall painted surfaces or a repainted surface have been primed and painted in order to not leave possible residue or peel paint upon removal. 

  • Can I use my mural outdoors?

No, not ideally. Univerwall should be used specifically for indoor use. The longevity of your wall mural will also vary depending on the surface you are applying it to. We strongly recommend placing it on a clean flat surface, no texture. We also recommend choosing our lamination option to protect the mural from moisture and UV fading, and most importantly will allow you to wipe it down to clean with a damp cloth.

  • I would like to use my mural on a different surface than a wall, can I do that?

Absolutely! You can use your Univerwall on all types of doors, glass, ceilings, poles, windows, furniture, home appliances, tiles, mirrors, etc. It can easily be placed on almost any flat surface. It should not cause any damage when removed, but if for some reason it does, please note that Univerwall Inc. is not responsible.

  • Can i put my mural on an existing wallpaper?

Yes, you can, although we do not recommend it. Removing existing wallpaper and prepping your wall for a new wall covering is best. Be sure if applied to wallpaper it is not vinyl based and has no texture. Univerwall is not responsible for the results of installation on wallpaper.

  • Do I need to add extra to my dimensions for good measure?

Yes, we recommend adding a little extra to your measured dimensions since walls are never perfectly straight. We print to the exact size ordered, for good measure, please add extra accordingly!

  • HOW CAN I SEND AN IMAGE I WANT TO USE FOR A CUSTOM ORDER?

The process is quite simple: 

1- First, check out our “CREATE YOUR OWN” page 
2- Upload your image. Feel free to add any additional comments and specifications regarding your order 
3- In our uploader software, enter the dimensions you need and crop your image the way you want. 
4- Select the material you want to receive your mural on. For more information on which material to use, be sure to refer to our  “Materials Gallery” page. 
5- If all looks good, just add your mural to cart, continue to checkout and place your order
6- Our graphic design department will then review your image to ensure that the resolution is high enough to suit your wall size reproduction 
7- We will then produce and ship your custom peel and stick wall mural.

  • CAN I CREATE MY OWN WALLPAPER MURAL?

Of course! You can upload your own image or contact us to have something created according to your wildest vision! Oh, and we’ll do it for free. 

  • CAN I CUSTOMISE AN IMAGE I HAVE FOUND ON YOUR WEBSITE?

Of course! Just browse our website. Once you find a design you like, just click on it and you will be able to crop the image the way you want. Then, choose your ideal material, add the cropped mural to cart and continue to checkout. If your mural requires additional tweaks, just send us an email to: bonjour@eazywallz.eu. Don’t forget, all our graphic design services are free of charge!

  • CAN I CHANGE THE COLOURS OF AN EXISTING WALLPAPER MURAL?

Of course! You can change some basic aspects using our cropping tool (black and white, sepia, brightness/contrast), but for best results please contact us and we’ll have one of our designers create the perfect colour balance for you. We will send you a proposal to validate before printing your mural to ensure it’s exactly as you envisioned it. 

 

  • HOW DO I MEASURE MY WALLS?

1. Measure the width and height of the complete wall.
2. If any section of the wall has different heights, measure the highest point to cover the whole wall.
3. The wallpaper is printed in the exact measurements, so always add a minimum 2 to 3 cm to the width and height measurements if the wall is uneven

  • DO I NEED TO ADD EXTRA DIMENSIONS TO MY WALL MEASUREMENTS?

Yes, we recommend adding 2 extra centimeters to your measured dimensions since walls are never perfectly straight. We print to the exact size ordered, for good measure, please add extra accordingly!

  • WHAT IS MY WALL IS SLANTED, SLOPED OR AT AN UNUSUAL ANGLE?

Measure the width and height of the greatest lengths on your wall only, ignoring any slopes, slants or angles. The mural will be supplied as a full rectangle mural and the slope should be cut away during installation.

  • I HAVE MORE THAN ONE WALL TO COVER. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MEASURE MULTIPLE WALLS

If you plan to wrap a wallpaper around multiple walls, simply combine the widths of all your walls and submit one global measurement when placing your order! 

  • WHAT IF I MADE A MISTAKE WHEN I MEASURED MY WALL?

Please contact us immediately if you believe you made an error while measuring your walls. If we have not yet produced your order, we will be pleased to adjust the measurements at no charge. Regrettably, if we have already began producing your order, we won’t be able to change your measurement specifications and will have to fill it the way you asked us to.

  • WHAT IF THE DESIGN I WANT TO USE DOES NOT FIT WELL WITH MY WALL MEASUREMENTS?

If the design doesn’t fit the size of your wall we sometimes can make manual modifications. Please check out our free design services to find or adjust the perfect design.

 

 

  • HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER

This is very simple, and in just three steps, you will have your created your order. 
1/ Select your design or upload yours
2/ Indicate the size of your wall
3/ Select your ideal material
In the case of wallpaper, you just need to indicate the number of panels you need to cover your the surface to decorate.

  • WHAT IS THE MINIMUM SIZE FOR MAKING AN ORDER?

Yes. The minimum surface is one meter square, except for the Wall Art. Contact us for further information.

  • HOW CAN I SEE WHAT MY WALL WILL LOOK LIKE BEFORE I ORDER IT?

When you send an order enquiry to us, we will come back to you within 24 hours with an email including a proof image showing how your wallpaper mural will look on your wall. If you need any changes making at this point then you simply need to let us know, and if you are happy with it and wish to proceed then payment can be made and we will print your wallpaper right away.

  • DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

Because all orders are printed on-demand, Univerwall does NOT offer refunds on any product. If there is an issue with your mural, please send us an email and we’ll make it right!

  • DO YOU OFFER RETURNS?

We will accept returns and offer an exchange for incorrect, damaged and defective items only, within 14 days of the date of receipt. Items must be returned in perfect condition, in the original shipping package.

  • I received my mural but I’m not sure about my image choice. Can I return it and choose a different image?

Unfortunately not. We only accept returns on incorrect, damaged or defective items.

  • My wall mural arrived damaged! What do I do?

If you wall mural was damaged during transit, we will ask for a picture showing the damage and we will contact you ASAP to resolve the issue.

  • HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY MURAL?

We accept payments with VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Apple Pay and PayPal. All payments are handled by a secure service provider. univerwall doesn’t handle or store any card information.

  • CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER AFTER PAYMENT?

We start working on your order the moment it is paid for. To change your order after payment, please contact us directly via our contact form, phone or email. If we have not printed your wallpaper yet, we will be pleased to change your order. 

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PAYMENT FAILS?

If you meet any problem during the payment process, don’t hesitate to call the customer service who will be happy to complete your order with you.

  • HOW WILL MY WALLPAPER ARRIVE?

Your wallpaper will arrive on a roll that is sectioned off into vertical drops that fit your wall height. These drops are simply matched up next to each other on the wall to create the full finished mural.

  • I NEED MY ORDER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. HOW CAN I EXPEDITE DELIVERY?

Our murals are shipped within 3-4 business days of being ordered. Please contact us for rush orders so we can do our best to get them to you in the timeframe you require. 

  • DO YOU SHIP WORLDWIDE?

Yes we do, excluding the US and Canada. To order an Univerwall in the US or Canada, please visit univerwall.com.

  • HOW DO I INSTALL MY WALLPAPER MURAL?

Univerwall wallpaper murals are easy to apply for most of the materials. Except for vinyl which is not easy to install, all the other materials are easy or very easy to install. Reading the instructions will save you time and potential errors. Note that all orders will come with a detailed Installation Instructions sheet. Also, check out our How To Install page for further details.

  • CAN I INSTALL MY WALLPAPER MURAL OVER AN EXISTING WALLPAPER?

Yes, you can, although we do not recommend it. Removing existing wallpaper and prepping your wall for a new wall covering is best. Be sure if applied to wallpaper it is not vinyl based and has no texture. Univerwall is not responsible for the results of installation on wallpaper.

  • My wall is not a flat surface. Can I still use my wall mural on it?

 Along with every order (Regular or Custom), you will receive a detailed Installation Instructions sheet. You can also find the installation instructions on our How To Install page.

  • CAN I INSTALL THE WALLPAPER MURAL BY MYSELF?

  • CAN SOMEONE INSTALL THE MURAL FOR ME?

  • WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE MY WALL FOR INSTALLATION?

To install your new mural, the surface of the wall/ceiling must be smooth, clean, dry and sound. Click here to access our preparation tutorial.

  • CAN I STILL INSTALL MY WALLPAPER MURAL IF THE SURFACE I WANT TO INSTALL IT ON IS NOT FLAT?

Flat and smooth surfaces are best. We do not recommend installing on any type of textured wall.

  • I RECENTLY PAINTED MY WALL. HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE INSTALLING MY WALLPAPER MURAL?

Do NOT apply it right away! If you apply your wallpaper mural before the paint/primer is fully dry, it will either have trouble adhering to the wall or the adhesive will dry to the paint. When removed, paint may come off with your mural. A completely dry wall may take longer than you think. As a general rule, we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks. However it is best to follow your paint manufacturer’s instructions. They should provide an amount of time for curing the paint before applying a wall covering to its surface.

  • WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE MY WALL MURAL OR WALLPAPER?

Our murals are ‘made to measure’ and unique for each wall, therefore no two are the same. For this reason, we are unable to accept returns of murals due to a change of plan, even if they are not installed, as we cannot reuse them.

  • WHAT IF I MEASURED MY WALLS WRONG?

Please contact us immediately after placing your order if you have a doubt in your wall measurements.

  • WHAT IF I DAMAGE MY WALL MURAL OR WALLPAPER WHILE INSTALLING IT?

Please do take care when installing the mural or hiring someone to help with the install, as we are unable to compensate installation fees from third parties or take responsibility for installation errors.

  • WHAT IF MY WALL MURAL OR WALLPAPER IS RECEIVED DAMAGED?

If there is a problem with your mural, simply contact our friendly team, and we will sort it out for you right away. To help us solve the problem quicker, we will ask you to send through some photos of your mural. Once we have established the problem, and if the problem is related to the production process, then we will send a replacement mural to you Please note that we will need to know about the problem within 14 days after purchase to offer a replacement mural.
